Minister Indranee Rajah on the impact of flexible work:
What we really need is a fundamental shift, but not the kind of shift that is so sharp and so traumatic, that the businesses can't take it (but) instead of expecting the parents to be in the office 24/7 all the time, there is some give and take.

Mark Lee, father of three and business owner on changes he is seeing in the workplace:

I see many progressive companies now. First, they allow the parent of a young child to go home earlier and have more flexible arrangements in terms of timing, in terms of loading ... and support (where) colleagues chipped in to help.
